Les idées fixes

Manau, visi turime idėjų, kurios neduoda ramybės ir persekioja. Nežinau, su kuo jos susijusios kitiems žmonėms, bet man vienaip ar kitaip, vis tiek su paišymais, tapymais ir t.t. Viena iš tokių nerimstančių idėjų buvo sukurti audinio raštą, ji gal nebuvo netgi tikra idée fixe, kol nesuradau SpoonFlower tinklapio, kuriame galima užsisakyti audinį pagal norimą raštą (savo, ar išsirinkti iš kitų dizainerių darbų). Tada ir tapo tokia, ta idėja. Ir štai pagaliau galiu pati pačiupinėti jau tą audinį, (beje, kadangi spausdinami audiniai JAV, nuo užsakymo iki atsiėmimo pašte praėjo mėnuo laiko). Kai tiek laiko viskas buvo mano galvoje, netgi sunku tuo patikėti... nors jau savaitę turiu tuos audinius, tad gal jau po truputį priprantu. O kurti raštus man patiko! Tik daug mažiau tikrojo kūrybinio darbo, improvizacijos, kaip aš įpratusi savo šilko tapyboje, nes reikėjo viską kruopščiai suredaguoti kompiuteriu, bet turbūt šitų dviejų dalykų ir lyginti negalima, kažkiek sakyčiau, persimečiau prie mass production, nors dar tik po metriuką abiejų turiu, todėl bent jau kol kas jie vis dar vieninteliai pasaulyje. :)

I think all of us have some ideas that do not let us stay calm and just obsess us. I don't know what those ideas are for other people, but for me, in one way or another, they are always related to drawing, painting etc. One of such obsessive ideas was to create a pattern for a fabric. It wasn't really a fixed idea, until I discovered the site of SpoonFlower, where one can order a design (one's own or created by fellow designers) printed on fabric. Then it became fixed idea. And this is the time now, that I can finally touch the fabric. When it was just an image in my head for so long (by the way, it is printed in US, so it took a month for order to get printed, shipped and arrive to my place), it was even hard to believe I really have it in my hands... even though, now it is already almost a week since I've received them, so maybe i get used to it already little  by little. And I really liked creating patterns! There might be much less of creative work and improvisation in it, compared to my usual silk painting activity, as the bigger part of design I did with my computer. But in any case, those things are different, I did a bit of 'mass production' I'd say, even if yet I have only a meter of each fabric, so it is still quite unique and one of a kind in this world :))

Turbūt įdomu, kaip jie buvo kuriami, įdedu savo piešinukus, kuriuos nuskenavau ir priredagavau abu raštus.

Metas atgaivinti blog'ą. Vasarą sąžiningai stengiausi išnaudoti vasariškai - ežerams, sodams, draugams, grynam orui, šviežioms uogoms, tam, kur nėra kompiuterio, ar bent jau neveikia internetas :) Kadangi vasara baigiasi, metas grįžti prie įprastų laisvalaikio praleidimo būdų. Kūryba vasaros metu buvo visai sustojusi, gera to pusė - gerai praleistas laikas, bloga - daug pažadų neįgyvendinta, ir sau ir kitiems... gal pavyks kada atsigriebti. :)

Prieš pradedant kurti kažką naujo, norėjau pirmiausia sudėlioti, sužiūrėti ir sutvarkyti tai, kas buvo apleista vasarai netikėtai aplankius ir šiaip apžvelgti, kas jau buvo padaryta iki šiol, ir kuria kryptim toliau judėt ir ką daryt.

Vienas iš apibendrinimų, mano darbuose populiariausia tema - aguonos, kad ir kaip stereotipiška tai, ir banalu gana... stengiuosi jas vis kažkiek kitaip perteikti, ir kad ir kaip pačiai gal būtų keista tai sakyti, manau, tai dar ne riba, ir aguonų bus daugiau...

Time came to recover my blog. I really tried to use summer for summery things - lakes, gardens, friends, fresh air, fresh berries, places where there are no computers, or at least the internet does not work. :) As the summer is coming to an end, it is already time to get back to usual works and hobbies. My creation this summer was almost completely suspended, the good side of it is the time well spent, the bad - a lot of promises to create something to myself and as well others not fulfilled... I hope I will be able to catch up some day. :)

Before creating something new, I wanted first of all put in places and make order of all what has been abandoned as the summer came quite unexpectedly, and just review what has been done before and what directions I need to take further.

One of the conclusions - the most popular subject in my works is the poppies, no matter how stereotypical and banal it is. I have tried to do my best to draw them in slightly different ways every time and even if this might look unexpected, I think this is not the limit, there are still more poppy drawings to come.

Mados / Fashion trends

Praeitame pranešime pasakojau apie užsakymus. Po jų vis dėlto spėjau padaryti porą darbų šiaip sau. Pristatau pirmąjį. Viskas prasidėjo nuo to, kad jau kažkiek laiko bandau susidraugauti su spalvomis, kurių anksčiau nenaudojau / nenorėjau naudoti, viena iš tokių buvo likusi rožinė. Nebuvau niekada nusiteikusi priešiškai, vien todėl, kad ir rožinė gali būti daug labai gražių atspalvių, bet ji buvo visada kažkodėl vis vien tokia man nelimpanti.

Mano apsisprendimą bandyti perteikti rožinę sustiprino tai, kad Pantone kompanija, pristatę rožinę kaip pati madingiausią šių metų spalvą, galbūt manoji rožinė ne visai tokia, kaip Pantone Honeysuckle, bet vis vien :) Ir viena iš kitų madingų spalvų pagal juos ateinančiam pavasariui, rusva, tad suderinau abi vienam šalikėlyje. Kas nori viso "color report" jį ras čia. Taigi, apie spalvas papasakojau, nors iš kur gimė piešinys net nežinau, ypatingo įkvėpimo momento nebuvo, tiesiog, ėmė ir atsirado toks :D

In my last blog post I told about the orders I had made recently. After that I have found time to make two scarves just according to my wishes and ideas. The story of the first scarf that I present here started when I decided to make friends with all the colors that before I had never used or didn't want to use. One of such colors was pink. It was not that I was against pink, as this color has many amazing hues and tones, however for some reason it just never turned out in my works.

My idea to make something pink finally got more ground when i saw that Pantone color company announced pink the color of the year. Maybe my pink is not exactly the same like Pantone Honeysuckle, but anyway :) And the other fashionable color for this coming spring, according to Pantone, is "russet", or simply brown, so I used them both for the scarf. If someone wants to see all Pantone report for spring 2011 you can find it here. So, this is the story of the colors, and what about the drawing you might ask... Well, it just turned out like this. :)

Antrasis šalikėlis taip pat susijęs su mada. Nesu ypatinga mados gerbėja, o sekėja dar mažiau, bet prie arbatos puodelio kartais visgi peržiūriu naujesnes garsių dizainerių kolekcijas ieškodama įkvėpimo www.style.com, ir paskutiniu metu nustebino nėrinių naudojimo gausa, o paskui ir radau, kad tai šių metų pavasario "trend'as" , jau senokai kažkokia panaši idėja buvo mano galvoj (kaip visais atvejais) ir pagaliau nupiešiau ir aš baltus romantiškus nėrinius. :)

The second scarf story is related to fashion as well. I am not a particular fashion fan and I am ever further away from fashion follower, however, sometimes with a cup of tea I take a look at the newer famous designer collections and newest trends for inspiration in http://www.style.com/, and this time I was surprised by how much lace there was everywhere, and well, yes, I was right, it is one of the trends for this spring . I had similar idea in my head for quite a long time (as is with all my ideas as you might already have noticed) and finally I drew also me some white romantic lace. :)
