Dovana mamai - šilko šalikėlis auksinės gėlės / Gift for my mum - silk scarf golden flowers

Vienas iš šalikėlių, kuris nukeliavo labai netoli - padovanojau mamai jos gimtadienio proga. Pirmą kartą bandžiau tapyti šalikėlį ant storesnio ponge 8 šilko. Iki šiol naudojau jį tik paveikslėliams ir šilko gėlėms. Nors spalvos išėjo ryškios, ir šilkas turi gražų blizgesį, tačiau šis šilko tipas manęs labai nesužavėjo. Šalikėlis ar rūbas iš Ponge 8 šilko neturi tokio gražaus kritimo, žinoma, gal būtent tai ir gali patikti kam nors. Ateityje šalikėliams naudosiu toliau Ponge 5, panašų, bet plonesnį šilką. Jis, ypač nutapytas garinamais dažais, yra labai malonus prie odos, gerai krentantis, turi gražų blizgesį. Nors ir glamžosi, bet paliktas sulankstytas gražiai praktiškai pats išsilygina. Tapiau auksiniu kontūru ir garinamais dažais. Gėlių motyvas gana paprastas - detalus ir laisvos formos gėlių ornamentavimas dera su paprastais gėlių lapų dryžiais, ir viskas kartu išryškėja tamsesniame fone. Aukso spalva ir bordo man yra vienas iš klasikinių prabangių spalvų derinių.

One of the scarves that did not travel very far - it was a gift to my mom for her birthday. It was first time I tried painting a silk scarf on Ponge 8 type of silk. I use it usually for silk paintings and silk flowers. Even if the colors vere very nice and vivid and the silk has a nice sheen, this type of silk fabric did not impress me a lot. This heavier Ponge 8 does not fall very nicely as a scarf, of course, this could seem as advantage to some. I usually use a lighter type of silk for my scarves - ponge 5. Especially when painted with steam fixed dyes, it is very soft to the skin, has a nice sheen, falls nicely, even if it is creased easily, but it does not seem a big disadvantage as creases are easily removed, it is enough to leave the scarf nicely folded for some time. I painted this scarf with light gold contour and steam fixed dyes. The flower motif is rather simple. Detailed ornamentation of flowers is in nice balance with simple striped leaves, and overall flower elements are enhanced by dark background. Gold and wine red are to me one of classic and luxurious color combinations.

Visos tos aguonos / All those poppies

Metas atgaivinti blog'ą. Vasarą sąžiningai stengiausi išnaudoti vasariškai - ežerams, sodams, draugams, grynam orui, šviežioms uogoms, tam, kur nėra kompiuterio, ar bent jau neveikia internetas :) Kadangi vasara baigiasi, metas grįžti prie įprastų laisvalaikio praleidimo būdų. Kūryba vasaros metu buvo visai sustojusi, gera to pusė - gerai praleistas laikas, bloga - daug pažadų neįgyvendinta, ir sau ir kitiems... gal pavyks kada atsigriebti. :)

Prieš pradedant kurti kažką naujo, norėjau pirmiausia sudėlioti, sužiūrėti ir sutvarkyti tai, kas buvo apleista vasarai netikėtai aplankius ir šiaip apžvelgti, kas jau buvo padaryta iki šiol, ir kuria kryptim toliau judėt ir ką daryt.

Vienas iš apibendrinimų, mano darbuose populiariausia tema - aguonos, kad ir kaip stereotipiška tai, ir banalu gana... stengiuosi jas vis kažkiek kitaip perteikti, ir kad ir kaip pačiai gal būtų keista tai sakyti, manau, tai dar ne riba, ir aguonų bus daugiau...

Time came to recover my blog. I really tried to use summer for summery things - lakes, gardens, friends, fresh air, fresh berries, places where there are no computers, or at least the internet does not work. :) As the summer is coming to an end, it is already time to get back to usual works and hobbies. My creation this summer was almost completely suspended, the good side of it is the time well spent, the bad - a lot of promises to create something to myself and as well others not fulfilled... I hope I will be able to catch up some day. :)

Before creating something new, I wanted first of all put in places and make order of all what has been abandoned as the summer came quite unexpectedly, and just review what has been done before and what directions I need to take further.

One of the conclusions - the most popular subject in my works is the poppies, no matter how stereotypical and banal it is. I have tried to do my best to draw them in slightly different ways every time and even if this might look unexpected, I think this is not the limit, there are still more poppy drawings to come.

how I paint / kaip aš tapau ... Lime

I called a new scarf I made "lime" because of the colors, I was doubting weather it reminds me more of the green olives or lime, and after all I decided the lime is more close :) as I think only showing the photos of new scarves can get boring, I will show this time the process, how it was made.

Pavadinau naują skarelę "lime" išvertus iš anglų kalbos neskamba taip gražiai, žalioji citrina :)) todėl tegu būna angliškai. Svarsčiau ar spalvinė gama labiau primena žalias alyvuoges ar citrinas, vis dėlto nusprendžiau, kad citrinos artimiau. Kadangi nuobodu vis žiūrėti tik į naujų skarelių nuotraukas, parodysiu šiek tiek, kaip vyko tapymo procesas.

1. The silk is stretched, and the basic contour lines drawn to see the composition.
Šilkas ištemptas ir jau nupieštos pagrindinės kontūro linijos, kad būtų aišku kompozicija.

2. The main details are contoured and the background color covered, some silk painters complain they never get a nice ven background, for me luckily it always turns out well, the speed is important that the paint would not get dry.
Pagrindinės detalės iškontūruotos ir padengta fono spalva. Kai kurios šilko tapytojos skundžiasi, kad negali lygiai nulieti fono, man kol kas visada sekėsi gerai, svarbu greitis, kad dažai per greit neišdžiūtų. :)

3. I decided to give the background some subtle ornamentation, I mark the contours of same style five petal flowers as the main drawing of the scarf in background with the vanishing marker.
Nusprendžiau, kad fone norėtųsi kažkokių dar subtilių ornamentukų, išnykstančiu markeriu pasižymėjau tokio pat stiliaus kaip ir dideli ornamentai penkialapių gėlyčių kontūrus ir vietas fone.

4. I draw the contours with water based gutta outliner, after color fixing this outliner washes out, and leaves no traces, then I will paint the flowers with various light shades of lime green and yellow.
Nupiešiau fono gėlyčių kontūrus išsiplaunančiu bespalviu kontūru - gutta, po dažų užfiksavimo išskalbus, šis kontūras išsiplauna, vėliau gėlytes nutapiau įvairiais žalios ir gelsvos atspalviais.

5. And voilà! The scarf is fixed and washed. I have nice subtle background, the small flowers seem a bit like stamped, although they are of course all drawn by hand and their slight differences give a very nice and vivid look to the whole.
Ir baigta! Skarelė užfiksuota ir išskalbta. Esu patenkinta fonu, gėlytės labai pagyvina, ir kartu ir neapkrauna, nepasidarė per daug marga, bet pagyvėjo visa skarelė.

Safari chiffon silk scarf / Safari šilko skarelė

When I finished this scarf, the first thought that came to my mind was Safari :) I am very happy with this scarf. It is nice when all comes out just as I was imagining. This one was a kind of experiment because I used steam fixed dies, only for a second time, but I'm so happy with the result, that I think I will use this type of colors everytime I work on chiffon. They spread better, the colors are more vivid and bright and the silk is very cute after steaming :)
The overall composition with stripes and suns gives a very nice combination, as I imagined. I didn't use a lot of colors, only two, dark chocolate brown and orange. When holding this scarf you feel the warmth coming from the warm colors, even if chiffon is very transparent material, when on the darker background the colors come out very nicely. The stripes are very in time for the new year of the tiger :)

Kai pabaigiau šitą skarelę mintis, kuri atėjo į galvą buvo safari :) labai džiaugiuosi šita skara, smagu, kai viskas išeina būtent taip, kaip įsivaizduoji. Ji buvo taip pat šiek tiek eksperimentas, kadangi tapiau vėlgi garais fiksuojamais dažais, antrąjį kartą tik. Bet ant šifono, nutariau, kitokiais ir netapysiu, nes jie daug geriau dengiasi, ir spalvos daug ryškesnės ir gyvesnės, ir kadangi pačio audinio struktūros ir kritimo jie taip nepakeičia, tai tikrai daug viskas geriau. :) Taigi, labai gražiai užsidėjus sužaidžia dryželiai ir saulutės, kaip ir įsivaizdavau, ir spalvų specialiai nedėjau daug, praktiškai be kontūro tik dvi, tamsaus šokolado, ir apelsinų, todėl paėmus rankas, jau jauti šilumą nuo atspalvių, nors šifonas labai peršviečiamas, bent ant tamsaus fono labai gražiai išryškėja tiek spalvos, tiek raštai. Ir dryžiukai kaip tigro metams pritaikyti gavosi ;)

That last scarf in 2009, and it was meant to be this azure scarf with little gliders ;) those who love gliding should like this scarf as well ;) even if it is rather girlish attitude towards gliding sport :D through the cloud streets :)

Paskutinis šalikėlis šiais metais, ir juo lemta buvo tapti... štai šiam žydram šalikėliui su sklandytuviukais, :) tiem, kam sklandymas prie širdies, turėtų patikti šitas šalikėlis ;) nors tai labiau toks mergaitiškas požiūris į sklandymą :D ... debesų keliais :)

Steam fixed colors. First try / garais fiksuojami dažai. I bandymas

Few weeks ago I bought my long dreamed steam fixed silk colors... so, finally I found the occassion to try them, even if the drawing itself is nothing special, I was very inpatient to do it, to see the result, and I'm very happy with it.
The fixing process which seemed a very complex process turned out perfectly, I have put the scarf between to fabric pieces, wrapped it, then wrapped all in baking paper and put to the lightly pressured steam pot, after two hours of steaming I took all out, washed it and Voila, bright colors, beautiful shine.
The fixing process is not so difficult as it seemed :p I lik the colors, I like the most how the silk looks after steaming :))) this is for sure not the last work using this dye :)

Prieš kelias savaites nusipirkau savo ilgai išsvajotų dažų fiksuojamų garais... taigi, pagaliau ištaikiau progą juos išbandyti, nors skarelė nieko ypatingo pats piešinys, netgi kai kur kontūrą tikrai labai negrabiai užtepiau, dėl to nekantravimo spalvint :D
Fiksavimas, kuris atrodė sudėtingiausias dalykas, pavyko puikiai, skarelę suvyniojau tarp dviejų medvilninės medžiagos sluoksnių, dar viską suvyniojau į vyniojamą popierių ir įdėjau į garinį puodą, kad niekur nesiliestų prie sienelių, ir po dviejų valandų garininmo išėmiau viską ir išskalbiau, (gal būtų užtekę ir mažiau laiko garinimui) dažų nei kiek nenusiplovė, kaip tik jie daug paryškėjo, nusiplovė viskas tik nuo etiketės, kuri, aišku, gryna sintetika, taigi šitie dažai tikrai įsiskverbia tik į natūralų šilką.
Fiksavimo procesas ne toks baisus, kaip atrodė :p o dažai man patiko, labiausiai patiko tai, koks minkštas ir švelnus, ir žvilgantis liko šilkas :p :))) tai tikrai ne paskutinis mano darbas šiais dažais, nors nemanau, kad atsisakysiu ir paprastų, fiksuojamų lygintuvu, jie irgi turi savų įdomumų.

Peacock / povas

Finally the peacock is finished, I was very happy to see that fixing went out smoothly and colours didn't change after washing. Once I spoiled a silk scarf, because I fixed colors badly (I noticed after that the iron setting was not on the highest, and such difference has cost me two days work), and I'm now always a bit worried when I wash them... But I learn from the errors :) I like the most the background gradient color, when wrapped it looks nice too.

Pagaliau povas galutinai baigtas, labai apsidžiaugiau, kad išplovus vaizdas nė kiek nepasikeitė, po to, kai vieną kartą sugadinau ilgai pieštą darbą su aguona, pasirodė, kad lygintuvas buvo nustatytas ne karščiausiu režimu, ir dažai neužsifiksavo) vis bijau po fiksavimo plauti visus darbus, bet puikiai dažai užsifiksavo, ir labai esu patenkinta fono spalvomis, toks lyg chameleoninis perėjimas išėjo :)
O kol kas šiek tiek liūdna, kadangi daug tenka mokytis... :( ir nėra laiko galvot daugiau apie šilką...

Peacock / povas

My newest silk work... I asked my boyfriend to send me something to inspire me, and he sent a photo of a peacock... I thought, why not, I never drew a peacock... :) so this is my interpretation, I told it few times in various posts in other sites, but I really think that some sunset of an exotic faraway land is reflected in its eye... and those who are interested in my previous silk works, check my flickr album (the link on the right) :)

Naujausias mano šilko darbas... paprašiau draugo, kas atsiųstų ką nors, kas galėtų įkvėpti mane, atsiuntė povo nuotrauką... pagalvojau, o kodėl gi ne, povo dar niekad nepiešiau :) taigi, mano interpretacija, jau kartojuosi, bet man tikrai atrodo, kad jo akyse atsispindi kokios nors egzotiškos šalies saulėlydis... o kam įdomu mano praeiti šilko darbai ir ne tik, gali apsilankyti čia:
